John graduated from Memorial University with a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering in 1995, after completing a three-year Petroleum Engineering Technology program at the Cabot Institute of Applied Engineer Science. He worked as an engineer in Canada, the U.S., and overseas before founding CanAm Physician Recruiting Inc. in 1997.
In 2013, John became a member of Canadian Management Consultant (CMC) and will be certified through the Executive stream in 2014. He is an active volunteer and serves on numerous boards and executive committees, including the Halifax Club (the oldest business club in North America), East Hants Sportsplex (a $22-million facility) and Oakfield Golf & Country Club.
As CEO, John consults with physicians, hospital administrators, government officials, and private clinic owners. He counsels medical students and residents to help them pinpoint the right career choices. He works with physicians who struggle with licensing, and physicians who lose their licence or have malpractice issues. He also acts as a consultant for physicians in front of Colleges’ Review Boards and Registrars.
Operating as a skilled mediator and negotiator, John works with Medical Advisory Committees (MAC) and physicians, dealing with contract disputes, behavioral issues, and management disputes. He meets with hospital CEOs, Medical Directors, and Chiefs of Staff to deal with HR planning and development. He consults on business management and operations of private medical clinics — both new startups and struggling clinics.
He consults on change management for the purpose to enhancing services and the delivery of patient care, and works with government officials during hospital mergers, physician recruitment, and clinical merge services.
Today, CanAm Physician Recruiting Inc. has five offices across the country. They are proud to be an international physician recruitment firm specializing in the placement of physicians across Canada, with numerous projects around the world. John founded CanAm Health Management Consulting in 2014 as way to better service clients’ needs for health management consulting. John has merged together some of the most experienced and respected healthcare managers in Canada, who boast both national and international credentials.

Eric graduated from Dalhousie University's Faculty of Medicine in 1971, and practiced medicine in Central Newfoundland for the following 10 years. Accepting a two-year assignment with the Ministry of Defense and Aviation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, he spent the next seven years working as a Family and Emergency Physician - ultimately becoming the Director of Ambulatory and Emergency Services for the Southwest Region.
Returning to Canada in 1987, he became Medical Director - and later CEO - of the General Hospital, at the Health Sciences Centre; the Teaching Hospital for Memorial University's Faculty of Medicine. With the amalgamation of all hospitals in St. John's he assumed the position of VP Professional Services and responsible for Medical Administration, until moving to Western Newfoundland as CEO/Medical Director of the Western Health Care Corporation.
In 2000, Eric joined InterhealthCanada and moved to Abu Dhabi to assist in the commissioning, staffing, and subsequent management of the Shaikh Khalifa Medical Centre (SKMC) - a 300-bed tertiary hospital. Over the next 12 years, he assumed the positions of Medical Director and CEO of SKMC, and subsequently the CEO and Board Chair of InterhealthCanada.
Eric maintains his membership in the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and has been a surveyor for Accreditation Canada both within Canada and Internationally since 1989. He also excels in his current role as CanAm's Recruitment Manager, Newfoundland, Middle East and Caribbean.

Phil Jost is a health system change specialist working proactively to improve access to high-quality physician services for Canadians. In his 25+ year health career, he has held various senior management positions in both Nova Scotia and PEI.View Profile
Phil graduated from Saint Mary's University in 2001 with a Master of Business Administration. He spent 15 years at the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre managing facility planning and capital projects, before becoming the CEO of West Prince Health in PEI's Department of Health and Social Services.
He is a past chair of the Health Association of PEI and the PEI Department of Health & Social Services CEO Committee, as well as served on the board of the PEI Physician Resource Planning Committee, the CHA Roundtable on Health System Effectiveness, and the Canadian Healthcare Association. He participated in numerous inter-provincial and national healthcare committees, and was invited to present his views on Canadian health reform to the Romanow Commission in 2002.
During his management career in the provincial health system, Phil researched and introduced numerous strategic primary healthcare programs focused on creating a sustainable health delivery system. He also authored a major paper presenting his health reform views entitled "Integrated eHealth Management: Canadian Health Care Renewal the Right Way," which went to national publication in 2007.
Phil concluded his successful public health sector career in 2006, when he joined the CanAm team as Vice President, Operations and Regional Manager (PEI, New Brunswick, Alberta, and Saskatchewan).
Today, Phil serves as a member of the Rotary Club of Summerside, PEI and on the Board of Governors at Holland College. He sees his role with CanAm as another powerful channel to contribute to the betterment of the Canadian healthcare system.

After completing a diploma (High Honours) in Research Techniques from Sheridan College, Hedi excelled in sales and marketing for more than 25 years. She held senior management positions within some of Canada's largest communication companies, including Transcontinental, The National Post, and TORSTAR.
When Hedi joined CanAm Physician Recruiting in 2008, it marked a significant milestone in our strategic growth initiative by strengthening our firm's presence in the Ontario medical recruitment market.
During the last six years with CanAm, Hedi has cultivated business opportunities with hospitals and private clinics in Ontario, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan. She proficiently manages all aspects of physician recruitment for stakeholders on both sides of the recruitment process.
