As president and CEO of Canabo Medical Corp, John led the executive team through a successful public listing for Canabo ( TSX.V:CMC ) followed by managing the merger of Canabo with Aleafia Health Inc TSX.V:ALEF ) in a transaction valued at $40 million resulting in combined operation with a market cap over $200 million at the close of the merger.

John has become a leading expert in the field of medical marijuana products, the regulatory process and the supply channel from licensed producers to end-user patients. Canabo was a venture backed company with the objective of becoming a leading clinic operation in Canada for the education of physicians, diagnosis and prescription fulfillment for medical marijuana patients; and to develop a leading patient research database to support the proliferation of medical marijuana products. In less than 2 years John scaled the company from 1 Toronto clinic with 2 part time physicians to 24 clinics across Canada, 140 recruited physicians supported by a national call center.

Born and raised in Newfoundland, John graduated from Memorial University in St. John’s NFLD with a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering in 1995 after completing a three-year Petroleum Engineering Technology program at the Cabot Institute of Applied Engineer Science. He worked as an engineer in Canada, the U.S., and overseas before founding CanAm Physician Recruiting Inc. in 1997.

CanAm has been a leading physician recruitment and placement company in the Canadian and international markets for over 20 years. John and his associate recruiter staff have successfully placed and managed career transitions for over thousands of doctors. CanAm continues to thrive with a focus on the Canadian market. As CEO of CanAm Physician Recruiting, Inc., John consults with physicians, hospital administrators, government officials, and private clinic owners. John also acts as a consultant for physicians in front of Colleges’ Review Boards and Registrars; and as a skilled mediator and negotiator, John works with Medical Advisory Committees (MAC) and physicians, dealing with contract disputes, behavioral issues, and management disputes.

In 2013, John became a member of Canadian Management Consultant (CMC) and obtained certification through the Executive stream in 2014. John is an active volunteer serving on numerous boards and executive committees such as CMC Atlantic Canada chapter, the Halifax Club (the oldest business club in North America), East Hants Sportsplex (a $22-million facility) and Oakfield Golf & Country Club. In his leisure time John is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys golf, fly fishing, hunting and cooking.

Eric graduated from Dalhousie University's Faculty of Medicine in 1971, and practiced medicine in Central Newfoundland for the following 10 years. Accepting a two-year assignment with the Ministry of Defense and Aviation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, he spent the next seven years working as a Family and Emergency Physician - ultimately becoming the Director of Ambulatory and Emergency Services for the Southwest Region.

Returning to Canada in 1987, he became Medical Director - and later CEO - of the General Hospital, at the Health Sciences Centre; the Teaching Hospital for Memorial University's Faculty of Medicine. With the amalgamation of all hospitals in St. John's he assumed the position of VP Professional Services and responsible for Medical Administration, until moving to Western Newfoundland as CEO/Medical Director of the Western Health Care Corporation.

In 2000, Eric joined InterhealthCanada and moved to Abu Dhabi to assist in the commissioning, staffing, and subsequent management of the Shaikh Khalifa Medical Centre (SKMC) - a 300-bed tertiary hospital. Over the next 12 years, he assumed the positions of Medical Director and CEO of SKMC, and subsequently the CEO and Board Chair of InterhealthCanada.

Eric maintains his membership in the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and has been a surveyor for Accreditation Canada both within Canada and Internationally since 1989. He also excels in his current role as CanAm's Recruitment Manager, Newfoundland, Middle East and Caribbean.

Phil graduated from Saint Mary's University in 2001 with a Master of Business Administration. He spent 15 years at the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre managing facility planning and capital projects, before becoming the CEO of West Prince Health in PEI's Department of Health and Social Services.

He is a past chair of the Health Association of PEI and the PEI Department of Health & Social Services CEO Committee, as well as served on the board of the PEI Physician Resource Planning Committee, the CHA Roundtable on Health System Effectiveness, and the Canadian Healthcare Association. He participated in numerous inter-provincial and national healthcare committees, and was invited to present his views on Canadian health reform to the Romanow Commission in 2002.

During his management career in the provincial health system, Phil researched and introduced numerous strategic primary healthcare programs focused on creating a sustainable health delivery system. He also authored a major paper presenting his health reform views entitled "Integrated eHealth Management: Canadian Health Care Renewal the Right Way," which went to national publication in 2007.

Phil concluded his successful public health sector career in 2006, when he joined the CanAm team as Vice President, Operations and Regional Manager (PEI, New Brunswick, Alberta, and Saskatchewan).

Today, Phil serves as a member of the Rotary Club of Summerside, PEI and on the Board of Governors at Holland College. He sees his role with CanAm as another powerful channel to contribute to the betterment of the Canadian healthcare system.
